There are some things you need to know about SEO. You need to do it correctly. Otherwise, you won’t get traffic, and your job goes in vain. You need to get to Google’s first page as the second or third page doesn’t bring you much traffic. I have collected the top 10 SEO tips for you that you need to know when you are doing SEO.
Top 10 SEO Tips: 1. Write long articles
If you look at the first page results with any keyword, you see that the articles are pretty often over 2000 words, even over 3000 words. The minimum I would recommend is 1200 words.
It’s pretty hard to write long articles, but when you have used to it, you automatically write longer articles. My average length of articles is around 1500 words and try to increase it. The longer articles you write, the better your positions are.
Top 10 SEO Tips: 2. Write Unique Content
If you are new to SEO, you might think that you can copy articles and use them to get traffic without any work. I have to say that it won’t work! It’s called plagiarism, and Google won’t rank your content if it’s not unique.
Content is also under copyrights, so it’s not legal to use someone’s content without editing. You can use someone’s content, but the text itself has to be unique. So write articles with your own words
Top 10 SEO Tips: 3. Use SEO plugin in your website
This tip is for WordPress users. If you have some other CMS or you do websites manually, you need to use other methods. If you are using WordPress, you can use plugins like All-In-One SEO pack or Yoast. You can download them also from the plugin section in WordPress.
You need to change Titles and Descriptions with the tool. All-in-One SEO pack gives you sitemaps and Google analytics code integration as well, which you need to use. Yoast gives you an idea of how to write your content, and it gives you points on how well you perform.
Personally, I use the All-In-One SEO pack just because of sitemaps and Google analytics code, but I think that in general Yoast is better.
Top 10 SEO Tips: 4. Use Backlinks.
Some people don’t use backlinks, and they still get ranked. It’s possible, but what if ten competitors have backlinks and you don’t. It’s possible that sites with backlinks stay there and you drop down from the first page.
It’s still a significant factor in the eyes of Google to have backlinks. You can buy manual backlinks which are white-hat.
Don’t buy spammy backlinks, but use high-quality, high Domain authority (DA) backlinks and these backlinks can help you to rank to the first page.
Top 10 SEO Tips: 5. Use Long-tail low competition keywords for the new site
If your site is unique and you don’t have high Domain authority (DA), you should find little competition longtail keywords. You can’t rank high competition keywords so you should not even try.
If you have an old domain that has higher DA, then you can try to rank medium-High competition keywords. You can use tools like Jaaxy or Long Tail Pro to find the right keywords. Try to find keywords that are in green so you can get ranked pretty quickly.
Top 10 SEO Tips: 6. Use your keyword 1-5% of the time
You need to use your primary keyword, 1-5% of the time. That is only for SEO purposes, but it’s essential. It’s hard to use the keyword many times in some cases, but try to find a way to use it.
Just like in this article, I write “Top 10 SEO tips” on every title I make, and you can do the same if your keyword is short enough that it won’t look too long. You make a review website, and you can write “Your product name” Review:” before your all headlines before you make your title text.
Top 10 SEO Tips: 7. Use SEO Content editor to see if your post is OK.
There is a free tool you can use. I use SEO content editor to check if my article is Good. It’s free to use. Check that you get the score over 85% and you should be good to go. You learn to do articles without it when you learn, but if you are new, I prefer to use it.
Top 10 SEO Tips: 8. Add Image alt-texts
It feels like an extra job, but it’s vital for SEO that you add image alt-texts. Use your article keywords as an alt-text, and you should also add title and description. Say something about your article in the description.
Top 10 SEO Tips: 9. Use Socia Media
Google gives you more credit if you have “social proof.” You need to use Facebook or Twitter at least and make an account and add content into it. That is not essential, but I prefer you to add social media accounts.
Top 10 SEO Tips: 10. Make your site load fast
Your site must load quickly. Google ranks only sites that charge soon enough. You should use many plugins to increase your site speed. You should also use the right hosting provider, and I prefer faster SSD Web Hosting.
You need to get good scores from https://gtmetrix.com to rank high on Google. There are many factors you need to change. You can use this guide and add plugins that make your site faster. Try to get page speed and Yslow scores above 80.
It takes time to get ranked
It takes time to get ranked. Usually, you need to wait at least three months to get ranked. Usually, it takes longer, and it can take up to 12 months to see your articles ranked.
You need to be patient with SEO. If you have an old domain that has higher DA or if you use the exact domain, you can see faster results. Don’t be surprised if you don’t get ranked at all as there are many factors that Google takes into account.
Ask From SEO experts
You can ask SEO experts like Neil Patel if your site and articles are good enough for Google’s first page rankings. That can cost you some money, but you can send an email, and, inevitably, you get an answer about your website for free, and if you need to make a more significant change, you can pay fo for it.
You can get a free audit and see the problems. You can also use a tool like a spell scan to check it yourself for free. It can be a hard task to make changes, especially if you are new to WordPress so you can hire a developer to make changes if needed.
Basic SEO is not hard. You don’t have to make anything special. Make good content and use the right keywords and use some essential tools to get ranked. Your DA gets higher when you use backlinks and when time goes on. The first is very low, but after a few years, it can be pretty high.
Just keep on creating content, and you should start to get traffic.
If you have a small site like an Amazon affiliate site, you can write blog posts to get more authority.
There are also some other factors that affect your authority and DA, but you can find more information from Google if you are more interested. I hope this article helped you and feel free to leave comments if you have any comments or anything else to say.
